Community meetings
• The Village of Bath Housing Authority Board will meet at 4 p.m. Monday.
•    The Charles E. Wescott Post #173 American Legion Riders will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 5 at the Bath Legion. All motorcycle enthusiasts are welcome to attend the meeting.
•     The Steuben County Veteran’s Memorial will hold a monthly business meeting at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, February 10 in the dining room of the facility located at 7230 State Route 54, Bath, NY. All regular Steuben County Veterans Memorial members are welcome to attend the meeting. Support your veteran’s organization.
•      The Raider Detachment #461 of the Marine Corps League will resume meetings at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 6 the Hornell VFW Post 2250, 245 Canisteo St., Hornell. All Marines, former Marines and FMF Navy Corpsmen are invited.

• The Champagne Whirl-A-Ways Square Dance Club will gather Saturday, February 9 at the Community Building, Bath. Early rounds will be held from 7-7:30 p.m. and square dancing from 7:30-10 p.m. Dance will be “Sweetheart Ball” with caller Gary Pruyne and Cuer Dottie Griffiths. • A NRA Basic Pistol Course will be held Saturday, February 23 and Saturday, March 2 at the Bath Rod & Gun Club, Telegraph Road, Bath. Course is 10 hours long and students must attend both days. Course fee is $75 per person. To register call Ed Cerra at 607-522-5681, registration deadline is Tuesday, February 5.
• Super Bowl Sunday Pizza and Wings from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, February 3 at the Wayne Fire House. For more information call 607-292-3380.
• Cornell Cooperative Extension will hold 2013 Locally-Grown Foods Festival from 5-8 p.m. Friday, February 8 at the Union Hall, 100 Civic Center Plaza, Corning. Admission is free. Sample locally produced meats, vegetables, fruits, cheese, wines and other farm products. For more information call 607-664-2300.
• The Campbell Lions Club will present the 2013 Annual Variety Show: “Love That Country Bumpkin” at 7 p.m. Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 9 and also at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10 at the Campbell-Savona High School Auditorium. Tickets are $7 at the door, $6 for advance sale and $3 for children under the age of 12. Tickets are available at the Campbell Town Hall or from any Lions member.
• On Wed, Feb. 6, 2013, at 7 PM, The Bath Peace & Justice Group will show the film “Dear Governor Cuomo” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 6 at the Arc of Steuben in Bath, One Arc Way, behind Simmons Rockwell on Rt. 54. No issue in New York state has created as much controversy and public debate as hydraulic fracturing - or fracking. Dear Governor Cuomo documents the May 15, 2012 efforts of a disparate group of New York scientists, musicians and activists gathered in Albany to convince Governor Cuomo to join the anti-fracking majority. The screening will be preceded by a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

 •    First Friday Fellowship will meet Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Hammondsport, NY. • St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Bath will hold their second annual dessert auction at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10 at the church. Individuals can sample 25+ different desserts for a fee of $5. • The Campbell-Savona Central School District Board of Education will hold their regular meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the LGI room at the High School.
• Corning Community College's Student Activities program will present “Incognito” with Michael Fosberg at 11:50 a.m. Monday, February 4 in the Triangle Lounge, Commons Building, Spencer Hill campus, Corning. • The Steuben County Women are accepting applications for a scholarship for a woman to help aid returning or advancing in the business or professional field that will require additional education. • Bath Area needs volunteers: RSVP....Lead with Experience
Steuben County's non-profits need your time and talent!
• Ira Davenport Hospital is looking for a gift shop volunteer on Friday afternoons and an Adult Day Care volunteer to assist with activities.
• AIM Independent Living needs a volunteer office receptionist in the Bath office.  Schedule is flexible.
• Veterans Service agency needs a volunteer to assist with filing and clerical work. Must be able to work independently.
• Vincent House in Wayland needs volunteers to do light housekeeping, painting, baking, general maintenance, and lawn care.  There are also opportunities for direct patient care, if desired.

Child Care
• Steuben Child Care Project gives child care providers information on a federally funded program which reimburses providers for nutritious meals served to the children in their program. The new on-line claiming process makes the required recordkeeping a snap, taking less than 5 minutes a day.  
SCCP helps child care providers access the funding that they are eligible to receive, as well as, support the providers to operate their businesses as economically as possible.  For more information on child care programs call 776-2126 or 1 (800) 553-2033.

• The Steuben County Sheriff's Office Stop DWI Program tip line is 1-877-862-4847, toll free. Please report those who are drinking alcohol under the age of 21 years, those who purchase alcohol for anyone under 21 years of age and parties where under age drinking may be occurring.

FSA emergency loan applications
• Steuben County has been declared eligible for Farm Service Agency (FSA), formerly Farmers Home Administration, disaster emergency loan assistance effective Oct. 3, 2012 due to damages and losses caused by Armyworm outbreak which occurred May 15, 2012 and continuing. Family farmers who have suffered production losses of at least 30 percent of their production and physical losses due to the Armyworm outbreak may be eligible for FSA loans. The interest rate on Emergency Loans is 3.75 percent.
Application for loans under this emergency designation will be accepted until June 3, 2013. For more information call 607-776-7398.
