  • Bath man faces DWI, drug charges

  • Harold A. Young, 60, of Bath, is facing multiple charges after police say they pulled him over for erratic driving and discovered cocaine in his vehicle.
    Young was stopped Thursday night on State Route 415 for allegedly speeding and having inadequate headlights.
    Bath-based New York State Police say when Young was pulled over, he was found to be under the influence of alcohol and had a plastic bag containing suspected cocaine in his vehicle.
    He was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, failure to signal a turn, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
    Young was arraigned in Town of Bath court and sent to the Steuben County Jail on $2,000 bail or $4,000 bond. He is set to appear in Town of Bath court Jan. 8.
