Addison police say a verbal argument in a local bar turned violent late Friday, ending with two men stabbed and a 52-year-old Addison man in custody on felony charges.
Police say Joseph Kruchten was involved in an altercation at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday with two other males.
The officer in charge, Steve Sellard, said the incident began with a verbal confrontation in the Main Grille, a Main Street bar in the village.
Sellard said the men involved in the altercation went outside, and the confrontation escalated in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven convenience store, near the entrance to Addison High School.
Kruchten allegedly stabbed both of the other men in the abdomen during the incident.
The two victims were airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., where they were treated for their injuries and are listed in fair condition.
Sellard said it wasn't clear what led to the confrontation.
Kruchten was charged with first-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.
He was taken into custody and arraigned in Town of Addison Court and sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
Kruchten is slated to appear in court, though authorities don't yet have a date for that hearing.
The Addison Police Department was assisted at the scene by New York State Police, the Addison Fire Department and Rural/Metro Ambulance.
