The Corning Museum of Glass will host a 2300 Degrees from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The event, free and open to all ages, will feature free wine tastings by Finger Lakes wineries, live music by Big Mean Sound Machine, and demonstrations by glass artist Jeff Mack.
Big Mean Sound Machine, a 15-piece band from Ithaca, describes its music as "a reinterpretation of Afrobeat, funk, jazz, fusion and everything in between."
Mack is an Ohio glass artist who also manages the Toledo Art Museum's Glass Pavilion. He'll make goblets using historic glassmaking techniques on CMoG's Hot Glass Stage.
There will be free appetizers and soft drinks, and heartier food available for purchase. There will be a free shuttle bus from CMoG's main parking lot off Interstate 86, Exit 46 to the entrance lobby.
