    The 2014 Winter Olympics begin today with the opening ceremony in Sochi, Russia. Sochi is nine hours ahead of Eastern standard time. You can watch the games on NBC channels or http://www.nbcolympics.com/.
    Happening today
    The big movies opening this weekend are "The Lego Movie," an animated PG flick that critics are calling a fantastic film; "The Monuments Men," a PG-13 action movie starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett; and "Vampire Academy," a PG-13 movie about, well, vampires.

    The Dow Jones opened at 15,628.53 after finishing up 188.30 points Thursday.
