The Corning-Elmira area will be on the fringe of the nor'easter moving up the East Coast, but will likely get 2 to 4 inches of snow Thursday, said Chip Maxham, meteorologist for the WETM Channel 18 News Storm Team.
Maxham says the track of the nor'easter has been difficult to project, so snowfall totals are hard to predict.
"But I'm fairly confident we'll see some snow," Maxham said.
Much heavier snowfall is expected east of Binghamton, but Maxham says his "best guess" is 2 to 4 inches locally.
Snow showers will likely begin around 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. Thursday, and continue throughout the day, he said.
