  • BATH | The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of other agencies, is conducting a search for a Kanona woman who went missing Wednesday night.
Authorities said Bobbie Jo Hatter, 40, of 5342 Chamberlain Road, disappeared sometime during the evening hours on Wednesday.
She was last seen walking east down Chamberlain Road, and reportedly looked confused and disoriented.
The Sheriff’s Office said she was wearing blue jeans, sneakers and a black jacket with white stripes.
Authorities interviewed friends and family members and conducted a search of the immediate area late Wednesday and Thursday.
Police initially believed Hatter got a ride out of the area, but they’ve now expanded their search to include a wide area surrounding County Route 14 in the Town of Bath.
A search is being conducted by the Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and forest rangers, with the help of a State Police helicopter.
Anyone with information about Hatter’s location should call 911 to have the information forwarded to the Sheriff’s Office.
