  • The final 2014-15 state budget signed Tuesday by Gov. Andrew Cuomo has no funding for the Monterey Shock Incarceration Camp in Schuyler County, indicating the state has not changed its plans to close the facility this year, according to local representatives Sen. Tom O’Mara, R-Big Flats, and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano, R-Corning, who have been fighting the closure.
O’Mara and Palmesano applauded the inclusion of $40 million for local governments statewide to fix potholes in roads caused by the severe winter, part of $438 million in funding for roads and bridges under the Consolidated Highway Improvement Program.
