  • Two people were arrested Wednesday after a high-speed chase in the Town of Lindley, Troopers in Painted Post reported.
The chase began when troopers attempted to pull over a vehicle traveling at 97 mph on Route 15. The driver, Earl Wilson, 41, of Beaver Dams, refused to pull over, troopers said.
The pursuit ended when Wilson pulled over in the Town of Lindley and attempted to flee on foot, troopers said. He was caught after a brief foot chase, troopers said.
He was charged with unlawful fleeing, second-degree unlicensed operation, failure to comply, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. He was sent to Steuben County Jail on unspecified bail.
A passenger in the vehicle, JoAnn Dukes 44, of Lindley, allegedly had several pills outside of their original container in her possession. She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and controlled substance in non-original container. She will appear in Lindley Town Court at a later date.
