  • The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a flood warning for Central Yates County and Northeastern Steuben County until 6:45 a.m. Sunday
At 12:38 p.m. minor flooding was occurring around Keuka Lake.
Some locations that may experience flooding include lakeshore areas new Penn Yan, Branchport, Hammondsport and Keuka Park.
The current Keuka Lake level is 716.52 feet. Flood stage is 716.5 feet. Keuka Lake is forecast to stay at or above the 716.5 feel level for the next 24 to 48 hours. The south end of the lake near Hammondsport may see slightly higher lake levels due to a northerly wind pushing additional water into the south end of the lake.
There have been reports of docks underwater and lake water approaching some cottages. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the road.
Earlier today, Yates County Sheriff Ron Spike renewed the boaters advisory on Keuka Lake and issued a similar advisory for Seneca Lake because of debris. Marine patrols are on Keuka Lake today assessing hazards.
