Authorities say a member of the Jasper-Troupsburg School Board was hosting parties that included underage drinking by members of the high school’s athletic teams.
Bath-based New York State Police investigators say Lisa S. Tracy, 47, of Greenwood, has been charged with second-degree criminal nuisance and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.
According to police, a five-month investigation began in January after a call from the state Child Abuse Hotline claiming that members of the Jasper-Troupsburg High School sports teams were attending drinking parties at a private residence in the Town of Jasper.
State Police investigators, with the cooperation of school officials, then conducted multiple interviews over a period of weeks, which they say led to the charges against Tracy.
She is set to appear in Town of Jasper Court at 7 p.m. July 1.
Police said the investigation is continuing and further arrests in the case are pending.
District officials couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.
A meeting of the school board is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight.
