  • Man arrested for alleged bomb threat at Arnot Mall store

  • David J. Lopez, 29, of Elmira, was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident, a Class E felony, for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to the Lids hat and jersey store in the Arnot Mall, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.
    The alleged bomb threat was made at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, and a store employee reported the threat to 911. Deputies searched the store but found no signs of an explosive device.
    Lopez was arraigned in Big Flats Town Court and sent to Chemung County Jail on $1,000 bail.
