  • Fireman's Carnival opens Thursday in Hammondsport

  • The Hammondsport Fireman’s Carnival runs today through Saturday, featuring midway rides, games of chance, food, music, a parade and fireworks.
    The carnival opens at 6 p.m. today at the Hammondsport Fire Department, just off Route 54 along the shore of Keuka Lake. Tonight’s highlights include a clam special, wristband specials for the amusement rides, and a bike giveaway.
    On Friday, the midway will be open from 2-10 p.m. There will be a fireman’s waterball contest at 5:30 p.m., wristband specials and a bike giveaway.
    There will also be live music from 6-8 p.m. Friday in the grandstand over in Village Square as part of the “Music in the Park” series. The performers will be Jorge T. Cuevas and the Caribe Jazz All-Stars.
    On Saturday, the Fireman’s Carnival will be open from 1-10 p.m. Other highlights include fire truck rides from noon-1 p.m., a chicken BBQ from noon-4 p.m., wristband specials and bike giveaways, a parade at 6 p.m., and a fireworks display at 10:30 p.m.
