  • A woman was charged with selling heroin following a raid late Tuesday morning at Knoxville Senior Apartments in the City of Corning.
Landy L. Scott, 63, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to Lt. Jeff Spaulding of the Corning Police Department.
The charges are Class B felonies.
Scott allegedly possessed and sold heroin in the Corning area on multiple occasions.
A search warrant was executed around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Apartment 114 in Knoxville Senior Apartments, where Scott lives.
The apartment complex, located at 40 West William St., is open to residents age 62 and older, according to the website of Rochester-based Conifer Realty, which manages the apartments.
Tuesday’s raid followed a two-month investigation by city police and the Steuben County District Attorney’s Drug Initiative Task Force.
Scott was arraigned before Judge Joseph Latham in Steuben County Court and sent to Steuben County Jail on $5,000 bail.
