The cause of an apartment house fire Monday afternoon in Corning is under investigation. Corning City firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at 132 Wall St. at 5:22 p.m, Corning Fire Chief Brad Davies said. The fire was contained to the second floor, but two residents of a third-floor apartment were taken to the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation, Davies said. The second floor apartment suffered moderate damage, displacing seven residents temporarily, Davies said. Corning City Fire Department and Rural/Metro responded to the scene. Stella DuPreeThe Leader
