Four fire departments battled a barn fire Thursday evening in the Town of Starkey.
The barn, owned by Ronald A. Grimaldi, 58, at 4856 Route 14, Dundee, was destroyed, the Yates County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Dundee, Himrod, Dresden and Penn Yan fire departments battled the blaze, and Dundee Ambulance, State Police, Office of Emergency Management and Medic 55 also responded. Wayne and Tyrone fire departments were on standby.
Sheriff Ron Spike said the cause of the fire was still under investigation. There were no animals in the barn, which was used more as a garage, Spike said.
