Warren and Ruby Thompson will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 5, 2010.
They met during World War II and married Aug. 5, 1945 by eloping in Florence, SC.
Warren is retired from the U.S. Post Office and is still working full time farming. He is a World War II P.O.W. Ruby, formerly Ruby Doris Lloyd, is retired from Steuben County Infirmary as a medical librarian.
The couple have three children, Becky (Bill) Strong of Savona, Doris Cochran of Hammondsport and Gary (Cindy) Thompson of Savona; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A family dinner is planned.
