The dealerships sell new and pre-owned private and commercial vehicles, services and parts.  The Bath site employs a staff of approximately 10-19.

“Simmons Rockwell is one of the area's largest employers,” Jay Dreyer said. “They have invested in the area's growth, adding to and modernizing their current location on Route 54.”

Slayton’s  Family Farms

Started by Bill and Nancy Slayton, the Slayton Farm has its roots in dairy.
 Long known for its oats crop, about 10 years ago the family tried its hands at potato growing and are now the largest potato grower in Steuben County, with about 700 acres of mostly chipping potatoes. Sons Bob, Mike and Steve now oversee operations.
 
“They’re excellent farmers,” said Steuben County Farm Bureau President Dan Hubbard. “Very good stewards of the land, taking many opportunities to expand.”

• Executive Director Marcia Hall:  "PRC of the Valleys touches the lives of all who enter our doors. Our emphasis is to create a safe place. We believe that each client in crisis deserves an advocate who will listen and give accurate information.”
 
• PRC of the Valleys opened its doors January 22, 1998 under the name of Loving Arms of Steuben County. Since that time they have helped hundreds of women and their families make an informed choice related to their unplanned pregnancies. They have provided them with free services, met their material needs and have given referrals to area agencies so that they may have all the support they need while facing this life changing situation.

 

Community Spirit Award
Dave Taylor Smith

 

• WVIN-Radio disc jockey and advertising representative
• A popular disc jockey for decades, Dave Taylor Smith is active in the Bath Kiwanis Club, receiving the club’s highest honor; the Hixon Award.

He is also a member of the Village of Bath Historic Committee, the Bath Elks, Sons of the American Legion, the Steuben County Historical Society and a member of the Central Steuben Chamber of Commerce. 

But he may be best known for his promotion of the  Annual Tyrtle Beach Youth Fund Drive which he helped create in 1992. The event has raised $418,631 for youth groups in the WVIN listening area.

“He has been a quiet behind-the-scenes worker in too many activities to count,” Chamber President Bonnie Albee said. “From a remote at the Home Show to a commentary for 'Strut your Mutt', he's always there, always smiling, always enthusiastic and upbeat.
