Sharon (Herrington) Eddy BATH - Sharon (Herrington) Eddy, age 64, passed away after a multi year battle with cancer on Thursday, October 12, 2006 on the Skilled Nursing Unit of Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born March 30, 1942 in Georgetown, and was the daughter of the late Sherman and Gertrude (Cady) Herrington. After living in Florida for many years, she returned to Bath, New York in 1989. Formerly a resident of Bethany Courtyards where she was very happy. She is survived by her children Gary Eddy currently of Elmira, Rachel (Harold) Brammer in Florida, Randall (Becky) Eddy in Kansas, Russell (Michelle) Eddy in Florida and Christopher Eddy in Florida. There are 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by siblings Beverly (Rudolph) Hauptman of Painted Post, Barbara (Raymond) Morseman of Bath, Donald Herrington of Bath, and Ina (Elwin) Cramer of Elmira. She was predeceased by her sister Beatrice (Elwyn) Ingersoll of Cameron Mills. Sharon was a 1959 graduate of Troupsburg Central School where she was active in extracurricular activities. While Sharon worked briefly at Corning Glass Works in the mail room, managed a convenient store and worked in restaurants, her primary role was that of a homemaker. During her life, she enjoyed sewing, reading, needlework, dancing and playing cards. Memorials may be made to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830, Arnot Ogden Medical Center, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira, NY 14905 or a charity of your choice. Family and friends were invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, October 21 at 10 a.m. at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Main Street, Woodhull. Also at the funeral home was the funeral and committal service which immediately followed at 11 a.m. Family and friends were invited to a buffet at the home of Beverly and Rudy Hauptman, 3 Meadow Lane, Painted Post, NY 14870. |
