Ninety-five walkers boost CROP Walk revenues

BATH - The 23rd Greater Bath Area Community CROP Walk, held Oct. 15, attracted approximately 95 walkers representing 27 organizations. An estimated $9,000 has been pledged, with the likelihood of additional money coming in. The local CROP Committee wishes to thank all who helped in any way with this endeavor.

CROP is an agency of Church World Service, an organization that reaches out to desperate people everywhere, whether they be the hungry in our own communities or hard-hit victims of war or natural disasters. In addition to emergency relief, long range self-help projects are a vital part of the CWS program. Of the money raised in the local Walk, 25% remains in this area, going to help food pantries and the Pro-Action Nutrition Program for the Elderly.

Anyone who missed the opportunity to contribute to this effort may still do so. Checks made out to CWS/CROP may be sent to Mary Hoffman, 210 Gibson Street, Bath, NY 14810.
