Warrant arrest Nevada J. Anderson, 21, of Bath was arrested on a warrant issued by Town of Hornellsville Court for three counts of issuing a bad check. Anderson was located by Bath police in the village and turned over to the Sheriff 's office for arraignment. Anderson was arraigned in Town of Hartsville Court and released with a later appearance date in town of Hornellsville Court. DWI Bath village police report the arrest of Tonia S. Lechner age 42 of CR 119 BX 31, Cameron Mills. Police received a call of an erratic driver heading down West Washington Street. Lechner was located on East Washington Street and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop for a stop sign. Lechner was arraigned by the Hon. Chauncey Watches and was remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or a $1,000 property bond. Bath police were assisted by the Steuben County Sheriffs Office. Child abuse The Steuben County Sheriff 's Office reports the arrest of Anthony P. Kroeger 47 of Hotchkiss Road, Prattsburgh, who was charged by the Sheriff 's Office Criminal Investigation Unit with one count of use of a child in a sexual performance, a class C felony. Kroeger was arrested at the Steuben County Jail where he has been held since his arrest by Sheriff 's Deputies early Saturday morning for fourth degree grand larceny and second debgree criminal sexual act. For the latter charge Kroeger was arraigned in Bath village court where he was remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash/$50,000 property bond by the Hon, Chauncey Watches. Kroeger is to reappear in Prattsburgh town court at 9 a.m. on Nov. 8. The Sheriff 's Office was assisted in this investigation by the Steuben County District Attorney's Office. Fatal On Oct. 22 at approximately 12:45 p.m. New York State Police at Bath investigated a one-car fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 390 southbound, approximately 3 miles north of Exit 1, Town of Avoca. Investigation at the scene revealed the vehicle, a 2005 Cadillac Escalade, was southbound on Interstate 390, began to swerve across both southbound lanes and entered the center median. The vehicle overturned several times, coming to rest upright in the center median. The vehicle operator, John T. Cox, 76, of Florida, was ejected and found unresponsive, lying in the center median. A passenger in the vehicle, Mary S. Cox, same address, was discovered in the vehicle with a head injury. Mr. Cox was treated at the scene by the Avoca Ambulance Corps and airlifted to Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira where he succumbed to his injuries. Mrs. Cox was removed from the vehicle by members of the Avoca Volunteer Fire Department, treated at the scene by members of the Cohocton Ambulance Corps and airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital where she is listed in Stable Condition. Both lanes of Interstate 390 were closed between Exits 1 and 2 for approximately 2 hours. The Steuben county Sheriff's Department, Stat Medivac, Mercy Flight, Avoca and Cohocton Ambulance Corps, Avoca, Wallace, Cohocton, and Kanona Fire Departments assisted Troopers at the scene. |
