No shortage of flu shots this year
BY MARY PERHAM THE LEADER

BATH - For the first time in several years, there is plenty of flu vaccine for Steuben County residents.

But it wasn't totally expected.

Just a couple hours after county Office for the Aging Director Linda Tetor told the county Legislature's Health and Education Committee Wednesday her department was facing another shortage, the entire shipment arrived.

"I said 'Well how do you like that?'" Tetor said. "Now I'll have to call the legislators."

The arrival means flu clinics will go forward as scheduled, with the first set for next Thursday, Tetor said.

The county has held flu shot clinics for the elderly for decades. But a lack of flu vaccine in Steuben has become common in recent years.

This year, the Center for Disease Control children ages 2-5 years receive an annual flu vaccination. Flu shot clinics have been scheduled for:

9:30 a.m.-noon, Nov. 13 Civil Defense Building, Bath.

9:30-10:30 a.m., Nov. 14 Wayland Fire Hall.

9:30 a.m.-noon, Nov. 15 Corning Senior Center.

9:30-10:30 a.m., Nov. 16 Addison Place Apartments.

9:30 a.m. -noon, Nov. 17 Knights of Columbus, Hornell.

9:30-10:30 a.m., Nov. 27 South Corning Town Hall.

9:30-10:30 a.m., Nov. 28 Church Street Court, Hornell.

9:30-10:30 a.m., Nov. 29 Spring Meadows Apartments,
