Pulteney Free Library gives thanks early

The Pulteney Free Library recently was honored with the 2006 Libri Foundation Grant, awarded by the Libri Foundation, a nationwide, non-profit organization that donates new, quality books to small rural public libraries in the U.S.

The foundation matched money raised by the Pulteney Free Library on a 3 to 1 ratio for a total for $1,050.00 worth of new children books.

In separate business, the library held its annual meeting Nov. 14, wrapping up the celebration of The Pulteney Free Library's 125th year of service to the community. A DVD of the Library's history was shown and volunteers were recognized and root beer floats were served.

The Pulteney Free Library is open Tuesday 12- 8pm, Wednesday 12-6pm, Thursday 12-8pm and Saturday 9am-1pm.
