C-S brings 'Peter Pan' to life CAMPBELL - The Campbell-Savona Drama Club's production of "Peter Pan" winds up at 2 p.m. today in the school's Stephen B. M o r l e y Auditorium. Performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8, and $7 for ages 17 and under. The play is based on a fairytale by Scottish novelist and playwright J.M. Barrie, and tells the story of Peter Pan, a boy who doesn't want to grow up. Peter Pan spends most of his time in Neverland with his gang the Lost Boys, battling Indians, pirates and the evil Captain Hook. Peter Pan often visits the Darling household in London, "the real world," to secretly listen to Mary Darling tell her children bedtime stories. One night, he takes the girl, Wendy Darling, and her brothers John and Michael off to Neverland, where they find themselves involved in all kinds of magical adventures. Campbell-Savona's version of "Peter Pan" is directed by Tom Freeland and stars Brittney DeWert as Peter Pan, Olivia Tyler as Wendy, Bryan Seager as John, Benjamin Harrian as Michael, Michael Larabee as Captain Hook, and Derrik Chrisler as Smee. It also features Erika Farrand, Emily Hoyt, Jared Allen, Jennifer Thomas, Holly Farrand, Alexis Smith, Alex Northrup, Cody DeWert, Andy Hayes, Jennifer Tims, Erica Tims, Chelsea Eldridge, Cole VanSkiver, Tiffany Vanderhoff, Camri Hanlon, Lisa Simpson, Rebekah Farrand, Alexis Smith and Hannah Wightman. Special effects are being provided by ZFX Flying Illusions, a California-based company that has done flying effects for Broadway and national tours of "Peter Pan," as well as for The Matrix movie and shows in Las Vegas. Each night of the Campbell- Savona show included a celebrity auction with memorabilia from Broadway shows, sports, music, television shows, entertainers and local businesses. |
