Rev. Clifford F. "Skip" Whitehead Sr.
He was born in Campbell, the son of the late Frederick W. and Pearl (Damoth) Whitehead. He was a Superintendent Of Buildings & Grounds at Campbell Central School where he retired in 1986 with 38 1/2 years of service. Skip started his Pastoral service as a lay leader at the Campbell Methodist Church. He was an ordained Deacon of the North Central, conference of the United Methodist Church. He served for 31 years as a pastor of the Risingville United Methodist Church. He was reappointed to the Kanona, Wheeler, Prattsburg United Methodist Church's. He was the Pastor of Milo Center United Methodist Church at the time of his death. Skip received the Silver Beaver Award from the Steuben Area Boy Scouts, he was a Boy Scout Commissioner. He was a chairman of the Town of Campbell Planning Board for over 25 years. He served many years as a volunteer fire fighter for Campbell. Skip was a member of the Savona Masonic Lodge. He was a life long farmer. He was a WW II Army Air Corp. Veteran. Skip is survived by four daughters: Trudy Easton of Rochester, Mary Lee (Vincent) Welch of Corning, Harriet (Davis) Bechtol of Summerville, S o u t h Carolina, Gail (Jay) Walker of Marion, Ohio and two sons: Clifford "Butch" (Denise) F. Whitehead Jr. of Campbell, Jim (Diana) Whitehead of North Richland Hills, Texas, Daughter-in-law, Do n n a Whitehead of Campbell, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Grace in 1994, by his brothers, Robert Whitehead and Kenneth Whitehead, and his sister, Sarah Rockwood. Friends called Saturday, November 11 from 2-5 p.m. and Sunday, November 12 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Fagan's Inc. Funeral Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath. Funeral service was held Monday, November 13 at 10 a.m. at Campbell United Methodist Church, 8516 Main Street, Campbell with Reverends Joe Wallace and Betty Bement officiating. Interment was held Monday, November 13 in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath.
