Warrant

Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week arrested Robert Gordon Mapes Jr., 44, of East Steuben Street, Bath, on a warrant issued from Erwin town court charging Mapes with petit larceny based on a complaint from a Sugar Creek store in Erwin.

Mapes allegedly failed to pay for gasoline. He was arraigned in Campbell Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail after being unable to post $90 bail.

DWI

Sheriff's deputies on Nov. 11 charged Adelbert D. Lilley, 44, with driving while intoxicated and related charges following a one-vehicle crash on county Route 9 in the Town of Avoca.

Deputies say Lilley was traveling in an easterly direction when he lost control of his vehicle, which spun around and skidded backwards down a 30-foot embankment.

Lilley and his passenger, David Gayhart Jr. , were not injured, but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Lilly was charged also with operating a vehcile with a .08 blood-alcohol content and making an unsage lane change. He is to appear at a later date in court.
