H. Easton Hammond
was famous for making the coffee. He was very committed to service and giving to his community, but didn't want recognition for what he did. He is survived by two sons, Carl (Donna) Hammond of Horseheads and Jim (Nancy) Hammond of Wake Forest, North Carolina; one sister, Jeanette Webb of Elmira; a brother, Richard (Ollie) Hammond of Homosassa, Florida; his grandchildren, Ellen and Andrew Hammond; a sister-in-law, Doris Hammond of Frostproof, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and the breakfast crew at the Stonehouse Cafe. Easton was predeceased by a brother Albert Hammond, and a sister Louise Jack. Calling hours were held on Friday, November 24 from 1 - 4 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning, where a Masonic Service was conducted at 4 p.m.. Burial will be in Millport Cemetery.
