Gerald R. "Jerry" Doty

PRATTSBURGH - Gerald R. 'Jerry' Doty, of 9 Pratt St., Prattsburgh, died Tuesday, November 28 at home.

Jerry was born April 17, 1939 in Hornell, the son of the late Ward and Gladys Birdsall Doty. He was employed by Empire Telephone for 43 years, prior to his retirement in 2001. Loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sondra; four daughters, Ann McNuss of Manassas, Virginia, Susan Doty of Penn Yan, Peg (Ron) Stanley of Bellona, and Janet (Duncan) Hurd of Smethport, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Matthew and Philip McNuss, Bethany and Nathanael Stanley; foster sister, Shirley Stamp of Bath; brother, James Doty of Arizona; and his sister, Joyce Kisacky of Florida.

Friends and family called at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh on Friday, December 1 from 6-8 p.m. His memorial service was held at the Funeral Home, on Saturday, December 2 at 10 a.m. Private family interment was held at Rural Cemetery in Prattsburgh.
