Mr. and Mrs. Wolcott
J. David Wolcott and H. Ann Dutton were married September 16, 1956 by the Rev. Robert Dempsey at the Carlisle Congregational Church in Carlisle, Massachusetts. The bride had grown up there, while the groom had grown up in Corning.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 16, 2006 at the Centenary United Methodist Chrch in Bath. David became a United Methodist Minister in 1957 and served in Canaseraga and Garwoods, Kanona and Wheeler, Adams, Earlville and Poolville, Canton, Mexico and Bath. After 40 years he retired in 1997 and served part-time at Coopers Plains. Ann was a clinical laboratory technician at Steuben County Laboratories in Hornell, and after their first child was born was a homemaker. They moved to Bath on June 15, 2005 and lives in Lake Country Estates at 1 Magnolia Street. David is the Coordinator of Senior Ministries at the Centenary United Methodist Church, on the Church Council, helping audit the membership rools, and does some visitation, preaching and funerals. Ann sings in the choir, is active in the United Methodist Women and other activities. They go to Florida witth their Motor Home for three months in the winter and take other tirps, as they both enjoy traveling.

They had a wonderful celebration sponsored by their children and grandchildren. They have three sons; Paul in Edgewood, Maryland, Philip (Dawn) in Marathon, and Mark (Wendy) in Eldersberg, Maryland. They have seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Most of them were able to attend a noon luncheon at the church. Also attending were David's sisters, Joyce (Dick) of Vestal and Jud of Saratoga Springs. Unfortunately, about a year ago Judy found she had demylantory disease which left her paralyzed from the waist down. Her daughter Susan brought her in her wheelchair in a special van. Ann's sister, Jane, also came from Lexington, Maryland. In all, there were 31 relatives and friends at the luncheon. Pictures of the couple and family pictures were taken afterwards, and everyone had a good time.

At three o'clock, the Rev. Jeffery McDowell, senior pastor of the church, officiated at a renewal of vows. About 100 people were in attendance. Besides many from the church, two came from Earlville, two from Kanona, and three from Coopers Plains. A DVD was shown on the large church screen of pictures of the courtship and marriage of David and Ann, followed by the growth of the family, the churches they had served and other special events in their lives. Afterward, everyone went to the Fellowship Hall for nice refreshments, and the cutting of the cake. There was a display of pictures of their wedding 50 years ago, the weddings of their children and grandchildren, and the children of various families. There was another table with pictures of the churches they served.
