Daniel L. VanOrder ARKPORT — Daniel L. VanOrder, 50, of 8239 Cream Hill Road, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19 at St. James Mercy Hospital. Born in Bath, Oct. 11, 1956, the son of Gilbert and Bertie Rice VanOrder, he had resided in Bath during his early life, and in Arkport the past six years. He had served his country as a member of the United State Marine Corp., and was a member of the Arkport United Methodist Church. Dan had been employed for 15 years in food service at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bath. At the time of his death, he was employed as a quality control inspector for Alstom in Hornell. Dan will be remembered as an excellent mechanic who enjoyed working on motorcycles and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Stever VanOrder, whom he married Aug. 30, 2003; his parents, Gilbert and Bertie VanOrder of Bath; two daughters, Tisha Rose Campbell of Batavia and Abigail VanOrder of Arkport; three sons, Jamie VanOrder of Haskinville, Robbie VanOrder and Ryan Stever of Arkport; two brothers, Gilbert (Sandy) VanOrder Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, and Frank (Linda) VanOrder of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; mother and fatherin law, Al and Jean Stever of Arkport; an d si x grandchildren. The family was present to receive friends from Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell, where funeral services took place Wednesday, Nov. 22, with Rev. Paul Emery officiating. Burial was held in Arkport Cemetery. |
