Bath Quota Club hosts top NY officials Quota International of Bath recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at their annual Christmas dinner meeting on Dec. 5. Top officials of New York District 17 attended to congratulate the Group, including Governor Terri Norton of Amherst; Lt. Governor Elizabeth Anderson of Bath, and Secretary/Treasurer Bernice Schott, also of Amherst. President Shirley Smith presided over the meeting, which included out of town guests Liz Weber Pat Carrier and Kathy Carrier from Corning. Governor Norton installed five new members into the local Group: Jean Riley, Donna Lybrand, Teresa Conover, Carolyn Kuhnen, and Wendy Brew- Schnauber. Entertainment was provided by the Dancing Grannies of Corning, under the direction of Genevieve Tarantelli. Quota members also collected food and supplies to be donated to the Bath SPCA animal shelter, a project spearheaded by Pat McCarthy. Donna Gerych organized the Silent Auction event, held in an effort to raise money in memory of the late Josephine Warren, a resident of Bath and a 50- year Quotarian within the Corning Group. The monies raised will be donated to charities or organizations to help the hearing impaired. Quota Club of Bath meetings will reconvene andl continue to pursue community giving. Past contributions hsupported the Thanksgiving Appeal food baskets through the Centenary United Methodist Church, Women’s Domestic Violence Center Shelter, Crop Walk, St. Mary’s Youth Group, Relay for Life fundraiser through the American Cancer Society, Bath Community Day Care, St. Mary’s Youth Group, Bath High School Choir, Education Scholarships, We Share Foundation to help the victims of the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita Disaster, the American Red Cross to help the victims of the Binghamton Flood, and Tyrtle Beach. Quota also continues to maintain and monitor incoming donations to The Clothing Shed, located in the parking lot behind St. Mary’s Church. All donations are appreciated and distributed to underprivileged families through St. Pauly’s Distribution Center of Farmington. The officers of Quota International of Bath are: Shirley Smith, President; Sheila Martin, Vice President; Pam Schoonmaker, Secretary, and Donna Gerych, Treasurer. TheBoard of Directors are Kathryn Deuel, Susan Narby and Marlea Sherwood.
