Legion Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary of Unit 173 meets every second Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Charles Wescott Post on William Streeet in Bath.

SPCA donations

The Finger Lakes SPCA is requesting area residents to continue donating returnable cans and bottles to the shelter on State Route 54. The recyclable materials are a significant source of income for the SPCA.

Volunteers also are needed to assist in the delivery of returnable materials to recycling centers and in walking dogs and cleaning facilities. For further information, call 776-3039. Parking permits available

Bath Village Police Chief David K. Rouse reports that Bath Village Parking Permits for the year 2007 are now abailable. Permit holders pay $10 per month and may park in the Municipal lot or at 10 hour parking meter locations. Permits are sld at the Bath Police Department. Bath AAUW Focuses on Asian Indian Women

The Bath Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet on January 2, in the Hammondsport High School Library at 7 p.m. The program will feature physical therapist Kimi Archer, of Avoca, who will share her work experience in India and her interaction with Indian women and girls.

Following her Powerpoint presentation, Archer will display samples of products made in India by local women near her clinic.

AAUW is a 125-year-old organization that promotes equity for all women and girls, life-long education, and positive societal change. The local Branch includes members from Bath and the surrounding area. For more information about AAUW, call Peg Inglis (292-3906) or Mary Hoffman (776-4758).

Spaghetti dinner

 St. James Episcopal Church in Hammondsport will hold a spaghetti supper from 4-6:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at the church, Corner of Lake and Main St., Hammondsport. Menu of homemade spaghetti and meatballs, homemade bread, a salad bar, a dessert bar with Italian desserts and a complimentary glass of wine as well as coffee, tea and milk. Adults are $6.50, Children from ages 3-12 are $3, and children under 3 are free.

The supper is co-chaired by Nancy and Floyd French. Women Business Owners’ Roundtable

The Women Business Owners’ Roundtable will meet at 9 a.m. Wenesday, Jan. 10 at the Small Business Development Center, 24 Denison Parkway, Corning. Stephanie Miller, eMarketing Manager at the Steuben County Conference & Visitors Bureau will present “Women and Technology: The Well-Rounded eMarketing Campaign on a Small Budget.” Women business owners in the Southern Tier region are invited to participate.
