Carl D. Peters Sr.
D. Peters Sr., 86, of Grove Street passed away Saturday, December 23 at the Corning Hospital. Carl was a veteran of World War II, Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was born July 9, 1920 in Savona to Fred and Fannie Trumbull Peters. He is a member of the Savona Fire Department, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Bath and Campbell American Legion. Carl was a retired Steuben County Sheriff Investigator. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Peters in 1989. Survived by four sons, Gary “Red” K. (Edith) Wilson of Bath, Ron Wilson of Savona, New York, Rodney (Sharon) Wilson of Campbell, and Carl D. (Penny) Peters Jr. of Savona; one daughter Barbara (Melvin) Maynard of Risingville; one brother-in-law, Ray Bertron of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one sister-inlaw, Eloise Bertron of South Corning, 25 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends called at Seager Funeral Home, Main St., Savona, on Wednesday, December 27, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ron Huckabone officiating. Interment was held in Seamens Cemetery, Savona, with full military honors. |
