Criminal contempt

Bath village police on Dec. 20 charged Curtiss Longwell, 18, of Bath with seconddegree criminal contempt and third-degree assault stemming from a domestic complaint on Belfast Street. Longwell was arraigned and is to reappear in court at a later date.

Child pornography

New York state police last week arrested Mark A. Youngs, 44, of Bath for allegedly possessing electronic child pornography on a computer. Youngs was charged with possession of a sexual performance by a child and two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Police say Youngs possessed pornography that portrayed sexual performances by a child and shared the images on the internet. He was arraigned in Bath town court and committed to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. He is to reappear in town court at a later date.

State police were assisted in their investigation by the New York Attorney General’s office and the New York Internet Crimes against Children Task Force.
