Nicholas J. Bottoni
BATH - Nicholas J. Bottoni, age 83, of Gibson Street Bath, died Wednesday, December 27. He was born in Prattsburgh January 8, 1923 the son of Augustine and Mary Minichello Bottoni. Mr. Bottoni received his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Education from SUNY Brockport and Masters Degree in School Counseling from Alfred University. He was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran. He was retired Principal of the Dana Lyon Elementary School in Bath. He was also a Supervising Principal and Guidance Counselor at Bradford Central School and a Guidance Counselor at the Savona School. Mr. Bottoni had been a baseball umpire and basketball and soccer referee, he volunteered at the Steuben County Health Care Facility and Meals on Wheels in Bath, he was a member of the St. Mary's Church in Bath, a 47 year member of the Bath B.P.O.E. 1547, where he was past Exalted Ruler, Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173, Bath Lions Club and the V.F.W. in Bath

He is survived by two daughters; Debbi (James) Deats of Bath and Pam (Gerald) Place of Newfield, one brother, Rocco (Ruth) Bottoni of Prattsburgh, grandchildren, G r e g Place(Niky Towner), Bryan Place (Dalia Santos) and Megan Deats; 3 great grandchildren, Kayla, A.J. and Ally Place, special friend, Carolyn DeLong, two aunts and several nieces nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife Phyliss and his sister Mary Angus.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Mary's Church in Bath on Saturday, December 30 at 10:30 a.m. concelebrated with Reverend John Wydeven and Reverend Richard Shatzel. Burial with Military Honors was in the St. Patrick´s Cemetery, Prattsburgh.
