Mary Jane Townsend St. Clair Shores, MI - Mary Jane (McCarthy) Townsend, age 90, died Monday, January 1, 2007 at Bon Secours Nursing Center. She was born August 31, 1916, in Cleveland Ohio, and resided in Grosse Pointe Farms, M.I., Penn Yan and Hammondsport. Mrs. Townsend earned a Bachelor's Degree from Marygrove College in Detroit, and was a real estate agent with Century 21 in Hammondsport. She was a great entertainer, loved hosting parties and was a world traveler. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. Mary Jane is survived by her step-daughters Anne Salisbury (Kent) and Molly Sujan; step-grandchildren Benjamin Salisbury (Darcy), Judd Salisbury, Megan Atkinson (Robert), Neelam Lindquist (David) and Jai Sujan; step-great-grandchildren Peter, Henry and David Salisbury, Caroline, William and Molly Atkinson, and Jemma and Gracie Lindquist. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel J. McCarthy and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by spouses James A. Townsend and Felix Faber. A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 10, at St. Michael Church, 210 Keuka St., Penn Yann, N.Y., the Rev. Bob Ring officiating. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchure Cemetery, Southfield, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to St. Michael Church, 210 Keuka St., Penn Yan, N.Y. 14527. |
