Who needs another drugstore?

To the Editor,

Historical value of the old Dana Lyon School aside, the last thing this struggling community needs is another drug store, which, no doubt, will lead to the closing of other drug stores around town. This oncecharming village is slowly being transformed into a run-down wasteland and the time to put the brakes on is now. Every decision of the Village Board needs to be tested against the values that the community hold dear. It is our duty as citizens to make our elected officials live up to their obligation to carry out the strategic plan of the community. Apathetic communities get what they get from lack of action at a time when input is sought to guide our leaders as they make critical decisions that will undoubtedly change Bath forever. The question is, "do we change it for the better or the worse?" Contact your village officials before January 12 and let them know that you want Bath revitalized in a way that preserves local history and capitalizes on the unique qualities that visitors cannot find elsewhere.
