Time to consider impeachment Why is this nation at war in Iraq? If you will go to what Paul Krugman said in an article on April 29, 2003, "Matters of Emphasis," which you will find on the internet under nytimes.com, he said, "Does it matter that we are misled into war in Iraq without any evidence that Saddam Hussein had any weapons of mass destruction, which one has to interpret as sufficient reason for Congress to bring impeachment charges against the President." But they have not done so. Elizabeth Holtzman, a former member of Congress placed an article in the Nation magazine on March 27, 2006 in which she writes that she was on the Committee that brought impeachment charges against President Nixon for an offense which was not near to that of President Bush, but she had no duty except to vote to impeach President Nixon. She gives about 20 reasons for which Bush should be impeached. You can find her article at the Nation or on the internet. On April 22, 2002, Dr. Wendy Johnson, a member of the World Health Organization, placed an article in the Nation magazine telling about the millions of people dying from hunger and diseases and we could not avoid it. We also have first hand evidence that Bin Laden, the terrorist, knew where all the nuclear facilities in this country are located, our troops found this evidence in caves that Bin Laden had occupied in Afghanistan. He had the means to destroy the United States but didn't. Why? The next question is why are we still in Iraq? Of course Congress is the only body that can bring impeachment charges against President Bush, and you as citizens must write and demand charges be brought or do you allow Bush to run us further in debt of have more of our troops sacrificed? It's all up to you. R. Matthews Bath |
