Ida Jeanette Reigelsperger

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON/BATH - Ida Jeanette Reigelsperger, age 87, passed away peacefully on her 87 birthday, January 5 in Seattle, Washington with her son george, daughter-inlaw, Maryann and her grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Katherine by her side.

Jeanette was born in Millport, a daughter of Earl and Fanny Wagner. She graduated with honors in 1936 from Hammondsport High School she then graduated from Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo. In 1941, Jeanette married George A. Reigelsperger. Jeanette and George moved to Augusta, Georgia, where George was stationed in the Air Force during WWII. During her husband's tour of duty, Jeanette worked as an American Red Cross volunteer. After the war, the couple moved to Bath, where they had their son, George Jr. The family lived in Bath until George Sr. passed away from Alzheimer's in 1997. Jeanette was George Sr.'s caregiver and supporter during all the years of his life and was very active at the VA Hospital in Bath, during his illness. They were bless to be married for 56 years.

Jeanette's life was full indeed. She spend 20 years working for the NYS Dept. of Social Services. She spent her free time collecting antiques, especially porcelain and glass. Rhinestone jewelry was another favorite collectable. In 2002, Jeanette move to Seattle, Washington, where she lived with her son and family until her death.

Jeanette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Maryann Reigelsperger Jr. and their children, Christopher, Matthew and Katherine all of Sammamish, Washington; her two sisters, Katherine Mays of Bath and Betty Reagan of Naples.

Inurnment will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hammondsport at a later date. Local arrangements are with the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, Wayland. Those who wish may light a candle in memory of Jeanette at www.bairdfuneralhomes.com.
