Panthers outpoint Lakers
BY SHAWN VARGO THE LEADER

CAMPBELL - Considering the match only featured four contested weight classes, Campbell-Savona's 42-36 win over Hammondsport featured a nail-biter of a finish.

In the final match, Campbell-Savona's Josh Simons scored a reversal and two back time points in the final 12 seconds of the 140-pound to score a 6- 4 decision victory over the Lakers' Nate Gurnsey. Earlier in the final period, it was Gurnsey that recorded a reversal to take a 4-2 lead - but he couldn't hold off Simons' late charge.

The Panthers also got a 6-3 decision from Justin Tombs (145), who recorded two third-period reversals to defeat Joe Bussman.

At 189 pounds, Kaleb Drake added to Campbell- Savona's lead with a pin of Josh Snyder in 5:37.

Hammondsport countered with one victory on the mat, as Adam Cruse pinned Chris McLaughlin in the heavyweight matchup (275) in 3:14.
