Roxie M. Slayton

BATH - Roxie M. Slayton, 77, passed away Thursday Jan. 18 at her home.

She was born in the Town of Urbana on April 5, 1929 the daughter of the late Henry William Jacobs and Lillian Race Jacobs.

She was a High School Graduate in 1946 from Hammondsport Central School, and a 2 year degree from Rochester Business Institute. Roxie was known throughout the community for her services as a waitress, bartender and cook and for many years was active as a Cinderella softball coach. She was known to many as "Momma Roxie". She was a very devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She retired from Steuben ARC after 19 years of service and will be sadly and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her 7 children Trudy Klock, Betty Covell, Shelly Cobb (Peter Donnelly), Donald B. Snyder Jr. (Brenda Yarrison), Julie Synder, Diane & Robert Crane and Jackie Slayton they are all of Bath, 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a very very special friend Rose White and many friends.

Calling hours were observed Sunday, Jan. 21, from 1-3:00 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath where her Funeral Service was held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1 p.m. Monday. Her burial was held in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport.
