Bush's modest proposal
"We must continue investing in new methods of producing ethanol, using everything from wood chips to grasses to agricultural wastes."
      That's what President Bush said in his State of the Union speech last month, and although the number of people who actually support the president would not fill the City of Binghamton, it's worthwhile taking a look at what he actually said in regards to alternative fuels.

To the Editor,
      Jim Pitt's letter of Jan. 28 about a second industrial park offers the perfect opportunity to inform the public about a change in that area. Mr. Pitt's letter referred to the current industrial park tenants as "Mercury Aircraft, Clarks Specialty and Steuben County ARC" (sic).

Criticisms of Sheehan unfair
To the Editor,
      I'm amazed that you actually printed that Jan. 28 vitriolic diatribe 'Mark him up for the home team,' and I hope that Ms. Shehan understands that she could sue the writer because of the very personal and libelous assault.
