Arthur B. Price

DADE CITY - Arthur B. Price, 73, of Dade City, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13 at his home. He was born January 15, 1934 in Avoca to James and Frances (Putnam) Price.

He graduated from Wayland Central School and State University of New York at Geneseo where he played baseball and soccer. Arthur served 2 years in USMC prior to teaching Special Education at Haverling Central High School, Bath for 32 years. He was active in Special Olympics at the local, state and national level. He also coached Junior Varsity Basketball, Baseball, Golf and developed the Haverling Soccer program and coached for several years. He served several terms as President Hav e r l i n g Teachers Association and often as Chief Negotiator for the teacher's contract. Also, he

served on the Governors Committee of 100. He and his wife owned and operated "Price's Place" ice cream stand at Lake Salubria for 6 years in the 70's. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bath where he served as Deacon. He was Past Town of Bath Chairman Democratic Party, and a member of Masonic Temple, Eastern Star, Past Treasurer and Director of Steuben County Agriculture Society, Past District Director of NYS Association of Agriculture Fairs. He was an active member of BPOE Elks 1547 as Past Exalted Ruler, Past State Vice President, Past District Deputy, Past State Ritual Chairman and State Interlodge and Visitation Chairman.

Survivors incude his beloved wife, Mary of Dade City; 3 daughters, Julie Weakley, Seminole, Florida, Dawn & Robert Weeks, Floyd, Virginia, Karen & Tim Kyllonen, Riva, Maryland, son-in-law, William Weakley, Poland, and 1 sister, Thelma & Norman Shaver, North Cohocton, 6 grandchildren, Amy & Jonathan Fay of Jacksonville, Florida, Morgan and Brittany Weeks of Floyd, Virginia and Michael, Kyle and Emily Kyllonen of Riva, Maryland; and 1 great granddaughter, Breana of Jacksonville, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations in his memory to the Hernando- Pasco Hospice, 37445 Clinton Ave, Dade City, Florida 33525. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath.
