Marijuana growing

State police last week charged a Howard man with growing marijuana, with investigators alleging he had raised 79 plants in an indoor growing operation.

Gerald Conklin, 51, of 7006 Snell Hill Road, was charged with unlawfully growing marijuana without a license and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was released on his own recognizance and is to reappear in Howard town court at a later date.

Investigators allege Conkiln's operation included timed heat lamps and irrigation systems, located within a propane-heate shed.
