Local students accepted to 2006 NYS School Music Association

Fifteen High School and 12 Middle School music students were accepted to the 2006 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Zone 15 Area All-State festival.

Instrumentalists Jonathan Archer, Alyssa Franklin, D a n i e l l e Hapeman, Ryan Holmes, Nathan McDowell, Rachel Moore, Heather Peek, Rebecca Schied and Adam Snav e l y represented Haverling High School as members of the concert band. Middle-schoolers Alex Manikas, Michelle Neu and Seth Skelly represented the middle school as members of the concert band and Sam Hall was a member of the string orchestra.

Vocalist Derrek Stark represented Haverling High School in mixed chorus and Ashley Brown, Jodianne Lindmark, Brielle Litz, Jessica Sokolowski and Amanda Warriner were members of the women's chorus. At the junior high level, Alisha Barber, Robbie Lindmark and Jessica Pettitt were members of the mixed chorus. Joining the women's chorus were Katelyn Baroody, Sarah Bates, Tiffany Gardiner, Savannah Gonzalez and Kristen Wessels.

Haverling Music Teach e r s Ri c hard Rohrbach, John Cole, Cheryl Muller and Neil Bryson worked with all of these students to prepare the music that was performed at the festival. The Junior High concert was performed November 4 at Horseheads High School, while the Senior High concert was held on November 18 at Haverling High School.
