Methodist Church hosts Coping with Cancer program

BATH - Coping with Cancer, an educational series available to the public at no charge, will host a presentation on the lymphatic system at 7 p.m. March 7 at the Centenary United Methodist church.

Proper functioning of the lymph system is critical for the body's ability to drain stagnant fluids, filter out toxins, regenerate tissues, and maintain a health immune system. When it's not working you just do not feel well.

This presentation will explain a hands-on treatment called lymph drainage therapy which helps to "jump start" your body to be healthy. If your lymph system has been damaged through surgery, effects of cancer or other traumas, a condition called lymphedema can occur.

The lymph drainage therapy, along with compression bandaging, exercises and skin care can help to alleviate these problems.
