Russell A. "Rusty" Freeland

DUNDEE - Russell A. "Rusty" Freeland, age 13, of Dundee, died with his parents, Sunday, March 4 in a car accident.

Friends called from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Funeral services were Private with Pastor David W. LeRoy officiating. Burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee on a date to be announced in the Spring.

The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to a Scholarship fund being established for Samantha Freeland c/o Five Star Bank 32 Main St. Dundee 14837; or to a Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of "Rusty" Freeland c/o Dundee Dollars for Scholars P.O. Box 204 Dundee 14837.

Rusty was born September 30, 1993 in Newport News, Virginia, the son of Timothy A. and Kerry S. Lamson Freeland. An seventh grade student at Dundee Central School, Dundee, Rusty attended Victory Highway Wesleyan Church; was a former Little League Baseball Player, and very active in the Dundee Youth Center. An avid NASCAR and Dale Jarrett fan, he loved animal, collecting Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and was on his way to becoming an artist.

He is loved and will be missed by his sister Samantha N.Freeland at home; maternal grandmother Darlene Lamson of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania; paternal grandmother Jessie I. Freeland of Asheboro, North Carolina; maternal grandfather Ronald Lamson of Spanaway, Washington; paternal great grandparents Alton (Elizabeth) Freeland of Newark; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his grandfather Russell A. Freeland who he was named after, on August 15, 1990.
