Scholarships sponsored by Bath AAUW

The Bath Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering two scholarships for 2007.

The organization's high school award is open to a young woman who is a member of the class of 2007 in either Hammondsport Central, Haverling Central, Avoca Central, Prattsburgh Central, or Wayland-Cohocton Central Schools. Applications for this award are available

from guidance counselors in the schools listed.

The organization''s other award is designed for mature women who have had their education interrupted, or who plan to return to the work force. Applications for this award are available from Carol Olszewski of Bath.

The value of the high school award is $750, and the Mature Woman Award is $750. The

deadline for submitting applications is April 16, 2007.

Each year the members of the Bath Branch of AAUW raise funds for scholarships by yard sales, member donations, the Annual International Dinner, and raffles. Besides its local scholarships, the Bath Branch is also funding an endowment at the national level in the name of former member Ida Ackley.
