Rape

Bath village police last week charged Anthony Ward, 46, with first-degree rape based on an investigation of allegations Ward sexually assaulted a village resident in May 2006.

Ward, who is incarcerated at Groveland Correctional Facility on unrelated charges, was arraigned in village court and returned to the facility. He is to reappear in village court at a later date.

Grand larceny

Sheriff's deputies charged Kris L. Koerner, 46, of state Route 415, Avoca, with fourthdegree grand larceny following an investigation into his alleged use of another person's credit information to purchase more than $1,000 in property.

Koerner was issued an appearance ticket for a later court appearance and returned to the Steuben County Jail, where he is being held on other charges.

The Bath Police Department and the Steuben County District Attorney's Office assisted in the investigation.

Bad check

Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week charged Grace C. Lanzetta, 24, of McNutt Run Road, Campbell, with one count of issuing a bad check on a warrant from Addison town court. Lanzetta was arraigned and remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $100 cash bail or a $200 property bond. She is to appear in court at a later date.
