HAMMONDSPORT HAPPENINGS + Monday, March 26, the Steuben County Youth in Government meets at 8:30 p.m. in the Legislative office, Bath, to review and turn in their journals. At 9 a.m. they meet with Mr. Johnson of Weights and Measures and at l0 a.m. attend the the County Legislative Meeting. Following luncheon with the Legislators, their last meeting of the day is at 1:30 p.m. with Mr. Greeley of the Probation Department + Adult Education Classes at Hammondsport Central School has Basic C o m p t e r R e p a i r Mondays/Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. March and 28, April 2 and 4 taught by Shelayne Sprague Wise. Limit of ten people. One will learn how to determine if a piece of hardware is mafunctioning and needs to be replaced; Replace system hardware is compatible with a system. + Hammondsport Central School classes are cancelled on Friday the 30th for a Conference Day. Scholarship Applications are due April l in the Guidance Office. + Hammondsport Volunteer Ambulance Corp are aways looking for people willing to consider donating their time as a volunteer at tendent or driver. Interested person may contact Gregg Learned at 868-4825 or 776-7306 or any corp member for more information. + There was a Red Cross Blood Bank Thursday, March 20 at the Hammondsport Fire Hall from l2 noon to 6 p.m. + The Project Care Group will be going to singing favorite songs; At Taylor Health, persons will be doing crafts, playing games, manicuring nails, talking, and taking people to the dining room to hear Kay Leiderbach play the piano! + From March 30 to May 27 at the Glenn Curtiss Museum, there will be a Finger Lakes Boat Exhibit. Also on exhibit until April 8 is a World War Uniforms, Weapons and other artifacs pertaining to Americans participation in the "Great War." The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admissions: $7 Adults; Senior Citizens 65 and older: $5. Students, 7-18; Children 6 and younger, free. + The officers of the Steuben County Historical Society for 2007 includes a newly elected president, Richard Cornell, who was Beth (Paul) and two grand daughters. His hobbies include woodworking, photography, target shooting, working with donkeys and the Steuben County Historical Society. Other officers are Joseph Paddock, Vice President; Mary Paddock, Recording Secretary, Nedra McElroy, Corresponding Secretary and Eleanor Silliman, Treasurer. Church news: + The Ecumenical Lenten Service and Luncheon this week Wednesday noon, the 28th is held at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Malanie Beardslee of the Mitchellsville Methodist Church as homilist. + St. Gabriels Catholic Church: March Atar Care World Religions by Chalene Altemose, led by Luther and Lucy Perkins right after today's ll a.m. Mass. The church is looking for more choir singers to join in for the Easter Vigil Service on April 7. Also need singers to take part in a joint choir at St. Mary's, Bath, Holy Thursday, April 5, 7:30 p.m. & Good Friday, April 6, at St Gabriel's-6 p.m. + First Presbyterian Church: A pot luck supper, March 22 was enjoyed by all attending in the undercroft. Interim Pastor Anne Waasdorf is in Korea with her daughter who has had thyroid surgery recently. + First United Methodist Church: Remember the each Wednesday Lenten potluck dinner for everyone in the church followed by video as members continue exploring "The Majest of Christ," written by R.C.
